Play NFL Football '94 (Japan) Online
You pick real '92 NFL teams, call plays from a decent playbook, and watch Steve Young shred defenses with rollout passes—defenders still get lost sometimes, but it’s way smoother than the last Sega football game.

Game Overview
NFL Football '94 on the Genesis is one of those early '90s sports games that somehow still feels fun even now. It’s basically Sega’s second shot at NFL football after Sportstalk Football '93, but this time they got the full NFL and players' association license—so you get all 28 teams and rosters from the '92 season. That means actual player names, which was kind of a big deal back then.
First thing you’ll notice is how much cleaner it looks compared to the first game. The sprites are sharper, the animations smoother, and the playbooks actually make sense. I remember picking the 49ers just because Steve Young was unstoppable on those rollout passes. The AI isn’t perfect—defensive backs sometimes forget they’re supposed to cover receivers—but it’s way less janky than earlier football games. If you’re into retro sports titles, this one holds up surprisingly well.
