Download Obitus_Disk3 ROM – Amiga Game
Action RPG with first-person 8-directional exploration and side-scrolling archery combat. Features castle raids and hybrid dungeon-crawling mechanics. Released in 1991 for Amiga.
Game Overview
Obitus is one of those weird, ambitious Amiga RPGs that tried something different—and honestly, it kinda worked. You play as Wil, a medieval history professor who wakes up in Middlemere, a fantasy world ruled by four warring brothers. No "chosen one" nonsense here—he just wants to figure out how he got there and, ideally, how to leave.
The first-person dungeon crawling feels surprisingly smooth for its time. Instead of jerking between four fixed directions like Dungeon Master, you get eight, with this weirdly satisfying scrolling effect when you turn. Moving forward has the same fluid motion, which makes the world feel less like a grid and more like an actual place.
Then there are these side-scrolling combat sections where you’re dodging arrows and firing back with your bow. Later, they mix it up with castle exploration that plays like a stripped-down platformer. It’s janky in places, but in that charming early-'90s way where ambition outweighed polish. If you dig obscure RPG hybrids, this one’s worth a look.
