Play Oddworld - Munch's Oddysee (U)(Rising Sun) Online

You swap between Abe sneaking past guards and Munch clumsily piloting gadgets, solving puzzles that need both their weird skills. The GBA version’s a bit janky, but that Oddworld charm—dark humor, grimy factories—still shines.

Game Overview

Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee came out on the Game Boy Advance in 2003, developed by Oddworld Inhabitants. It was part of that wave of console-to-handheld ports that tried to squeeze big adventures onto a small screen. You could tell it was ambitious for the hardware, even if some things got lost in translation.

You control two characters, Abe and Munch, switching between them to solve environmental puzzles. Abe can chant to possess enemies or command followers, while Munch uses his sonar to control machinery and gadgets. The main goal is to rescue your fellow creatures from a grim, industrial fate. The game plays out screen by screen, with a focus on careful planning and timing rather than fast action. It can feel a bit slow and the controls are sometimes clumsy, but there's a real satisfaction in figuring out a tricky puzzle and moving forward. Playing it feels like navigating a dark, funny, and slightly broken world that's entirely its own.
