Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee came out on the Game Boy Advance in 2003, developed by Oddworld Inhabitants. It was a time when a lot of big console games were getting scaled-down, sometimes awkward, handheld ports, and this was no exception. You could tell they tried to fit a much bigger experience onto the small screen, which was a common challenge for the platform.
You control two characters, Abe and Munch, switching between them to solve puzzles and progress. Abe can possess enemies to make them do his bidding, while Munch uses a remote control to command small, aggressive creatures called Fuzzles. The main goal is to rescue your kind from a sinister food corporation, which involves a lot of sneaking, item fetching, and herding other characters. The pacing is slow, and the isometric view combined with touchy controls can make navigation frustrating. It feels like a clumsy but earnest attempt to bring a complex world into your hands.
