Oekaki Logic 2 is one of those SNES puzzle games that never made it out of Japan, which is a shame because it’s weirdly relaxing in a way most logic games aren’t. You get these grids with numbers on the sides—basically instructions for which squares to fill in—and when you finish, they turn into these cute little pixel art drawings. The first few are dead simple, like a smiley face or a teacup, but later puzzles make you stop and actually think.
What I love is how it feels like solving a mystery and making art at the same time. The controls are straightforward (d-pad and two buttons), and even if you don’t read Japanese, the menus are easy enough to guess. It’s the kind of game you play with a cup of tea, zoning out for half an hour without realizing it. If you’ve ever lost hours to Picross, this is its chill, slightly obscure cousin.
