Game Overview

Oide Rascal is one of those weird little Game Boy Color games that somehow sticks with you. You play as this tiny troublemaker—think a pixelated Dennis the Menace—sneaking through levels, setting traps, and generally causing chaos. At first, it feels like a simple platformer, but then you realize half the fun is tricking enemies into falling into pits or knocking each other out.

The art’s got that chunky, bright GBC style, and the music’s oddly catchy in that tinny handheld way. Some puzzles had me stuck for way too long, but when you finally pull off a ridiculous chain reaction of traps, it’s stupidly satisfying. Definitely more strategic than it looks.

If you’ve ever wondered what would happen if someone mashed up Bomberman and a Saturday morning cartoon, this is probably the answer. It’s short, weird, and Japanese in the best possible way.
