Oscar on SNES is this weirdly charming platformer where you play as a little guy running through Hollywood movie sets—think cheesy sci-fi labs, haunted houses, and even a cartoon world where everything’s bouncing around like rubber. Your job? Hunt down those shiny Oscar statues hidden in each level. Miss a few, and you’ll have to backtrack, but grab enough and you’re golden.
The levels are stacked in this tower you unlock door by door, so you can tackle them in any order. Jump on enemies to take them out (classic Mario style), or just dodge them if you’re feeling lazy. Some drop power-ups, like a yo-yo that smashes through walls or a temporary invincibility boost—handy when the horror level’s zombies get too rowdy.
Fair warning: the SNES version got trimmed down to just four worlds, so if you’ve played the Amiga or DSi ports, it’s a shorter ride. Still, there’s something oddly satisfying about bouncing between genres while collecting tiny golden trophies.
