P.O.W. came out on the Amiga in 1988, published by Actionware Corporation. It was a port of an arcade game, one of many action titles that filled out the library for the platform during its early years. The game offered a straightforward military escape premise that was common at the time.

You control a captured soldier who must fight his way out of an enemy camp. The main goal is to battle through side-scrolling levels, rescuing other prisoners while avoiding harming civilians. Your character uses a combination of punches, kicks, and found weapons like knives and machine guns to defeat soldiers, tanks, and helicopters. You collect ammo and health power-ups dropped by enemies to survive the increasingly difficult waves of opposition. The pacing is fast, and the challenge is consistent, demanding quick reflexes to progress. It feels like a relentless, straightforward brawl from start to finish.
