Pac-Mania on the SEGA Master System is like someone took classic Pac-Man, tilted the maze on its side, and cranked everything up a notch. The isometric view makes it feel fresh—you’re still gobbling dots and avoiding ghosts, but now you can actually jump over them, which feels weirdly satisfying when you pull it off last-second.
The new ghosts—Funky and Spunky—are absolute menaces compared to the original crew, and the mazes are tighter, so you’ll be weaving through corners way more frantically. It’s still Pac-Man at heart, just faster, a little meaner, and with that early 3D charm. If you’ve played the arcade version, this holds up surprisingly well for an 8-bit port.
Honestly, the first time I jumped over Blinky instead of just running, I grinned like an idiot. It’s the little things.
