Pacmania came out for the Nintendo Entertainment System in 1984, developed by Namco. It was a time when arcade ports were common, and this one tried to stand out by giving the familiar maze chase a new perspective. It didn't redefine the genre, but it offered a different kind of challenge for players who had memorized every turn of the original.

You control Pac-Man through isometric mazes, eating dots while avoiding four ghosts. The main goal is to clear each stage by consuming all pellets, with occasional power pellets letting you turn the tables and hunt the ghosts. The big addition is the jump button; you can hop over ghosts to escape, though the angled view makes judging distances tricky. Later stages introduce ramps and multi-level pathways that complicate navigation. The game moves quickly and the difficulty spikes noticeably after the first few boards. It feels frantic and a little disorienting, but landing a perfect jump over a pursuing ghost is deeply satisfying.
