Play Pagemaster, The Online
You play as a kid turned cartoon, jumping between book genres—sword fights with pirates one minute, dodging monsters in a haunted castle the next. Feels like a Saturday morning cartoon with slightly clunky SNES platforming.

I picked up The Pagemaster for the Super Nintendo back in 1994, a game developed by Probe Software. It came out during that era when licensed titles based on movies were everywhere, and this one was based on the animated adventure film. It didn't stand out as a major hit, but it had a certain charm if you were into platformers and enjoyed the source material.
You control Richard Tyler, a cautious boy who gets pulled into a magical library and must navigate through worlds based on classic literary genres. The main goal is to progress through each themed section, like Adventure, Horror, and Fantasy, by solving environmental puzzles and defeating enemies. You jump across platforms, avoid hazards, and use items you find, such as a sword for combat or a slingshot to hit switches. The pacing is methodical, with some tricky jumps and enemy patterns that can trip you up. It feels like a straightforward, sometimes unforgiving journey through a storybook where every screen demands careful attention.
