Play Pang Online
Shoot harpoons to pop bouncing alien bubbles in Pang on Game Boy, dodging threats as you clear each screen and tackle tougher challenges.
Pang came out for the Game Boy in 1990, developed by Mitchell Corporation. It was one of those games that felt perfectly suited to the handheld, a straightforward arcade-style experience you could pick up and play in short bursts. In an era full of platformers and RPGs, its focused, almost minimalist concept stood out.
You control a small character who moves left and right at the bottom of the screen, armed with a harpoon gun that fires upward. The goal is to pop all the bouncing alien bubbles that descend from above. Each bubble you hit splits into two smaller, faster bubbles, and the screen quickly fills with unpredictable, ricocheting threats. You clear one screen and immediately move to the next, with the difficulty ramping up steadily as the stages progress. It feels tense and frantic, a constant test of reflexes and positioning under pressure.
