Play Panic in the Mushroom Kingdom Online
You're Mario, but the Mushroom Kingdom's falling apart—Toads scream as you shove blocks to save them while Piranha Plants rain down. SNES chaos at its finest.

Panic in the Mushroom Kingdom came out in 2002 for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System, developed by SuperMarioFreak. It was a late release for the SNES, arriving well into the lifespan of newer consoles, but it found an audience among players still devoted to the 16-bit era. The game takes the familiar setting of the Mushroom Kingdom and plunges it into immediate, non-stop disaster.
You control Mario, and your only goal is to survive an endless onslaught of enemies and environmental collapse. The screen is constantly swarming with Piranha Plants, Koopas, and other hazards, while Toads run around in a panic. You can jump on enemies or use blocks that appear randomly to temporarily shield yourself or squash foes. There is no overworld or level progression; each screen is a self-contained arena of chaos where the only objective is to last as long as possible. The pacing is relentlessly fast, and the difficulty spikes quickly, demanding quick reflexes and constant movement. It feels like trying to stop a flood with your bare hands.
