Game Overview

Parasol Stars is this weirdly charming little sequel to Rainbow Islands where you play as Bubby or Bobby (those cute bubble dragon things from Bubble Bobble). Instead of shooting rainbows, you’ve got this magic parasol—you can block attacks with it, bounce enemies into the air, or even scoop up water to put out fires. The first level starts with these cheerful little clouds and smiling suns, and then suddenly you’re juggling enemies like some kind of pastel-colored circus act.

The Amiga version has these bright, bouncy colors that make everything feel like a candy-coated dream—until you realize some of those smiling stars are actually out to murder you. The music’s got that classic upbeat arcade vibe, too. It’s simple at first, but by the third world, you’ll be frantically juggling fruit, dodging lightning, and wondering how a game about umbrellas got this intense.
