I picked up PGA European Tour on the Game Boy back in 1994, a portable golf sim from Ocean Software. It was one of those sports titles that felt ambitious for the hardware, trying to squeeze a full round of golf onto that little green screen. For its time, it offered a decent dose of golf without needing to be anywhere near a console.
You control a golfer through a series of tournaments, aiming to post the lowest score across 18 holes. The main mechanics involve selecting clubs, adjusting your aim for wind, and timing your swing with a power meter. The game moves at a deliberate pace, and the difficulty comes from reading the course and managing mistakes. It feels satisfying when you nail a long putt or avoid a bunker with a well placed shot.
