I first played Phantasie on the Amiga back in 1985, a game published by Strategic Simulations, Inc. You control a custom party of up to six characters, venturing through towns, wilderness, and multi-level dungeons from an overhead perspective. The main goal is to defeat the evil wizard Nikademus and his Black Knights. Exploration happens screen by screen, with turn-based combat that lets you choose specific attacks, like swinging a sword or firing a bow. You manage gold, which must be stored in towns to avoid loss, and deal with various enemy types that keep you on your toes.
