Picross NP Vol. 6 came out for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System in 1999, published by Nintendo. It was one of the later releases for the console, arriving well into the 32-bit era, and it was part of a subscription based series available only to Nintendo Power readers in Japan. This volume, like the others, focused entirely on nonogram puzzles, a type of picture logic game.
You don't control a character; you manipulate a cursor to fill in or mark empty squares on a grid. The main objective is to complete each puzzle to reveal a hidden picture, which in this volume are all based on characters and objects from Super Mario 64. You use numeric clues on the sides of the grid to deduce which squares to fill, employing an auto mark function to prevent errors and a hint system if you get stuck. The pacing is methodical, and the difficulty comes from careful deduction rather than quick reflexes. It feels like patiently untangling a knot until the final image snaps into place.
