Game Overview

Pikmin was a Nintendo GameCube game from 2001, developed and published by Nintendo. It arrived early in the console's life, offering something completely different from the usual platformers and racers. You play as Captain Olimar, a tiny space explorer whose ship has broken apart after crashing on an unfamiliar planet.

You command groups of small, plant-like creatures called Pikmin to accomplish tasks. Your main goal is to retrieve all the scattered parts of your ship within 30 in-game days. You throw Pikmin to carry objects, break down walls, and defeat hostile creatures. Different Pikmin types have unique abilities; red ones are resistant to fire, yellow ones can be thrown higher and carry bomb rocks, blue ones can survive in water. The days are short, forcing you to manage your time carefully and often choose which tasks to prioritize. It feels like conducting a very fragile, very determined little army.
