Resident Evil on GameCube still holds up as one of the creepiest ways to revisit the original mansion nightmare. You start off with barely any ammo, fumbling through dimly lit hallways while zombies lurch at you from every corner. The fixed camera angles make every turn tense—you never quite know what's waiting just off-screen.

Half the challenge is managing your inventory like a paranoid survivalist. Do you carry extra herbs or save space for key items? And those puzzles—some make sense, others have you scratching your head until you realize you needed to combine that random jewel with a music box three rooms back. The voice acting's hilariously stiff in that classic PS1-era way, but it weirdly adds to the charm.

If you're into slow-burn horror where every bullet counts, this is still one of the best ways to experience the game that defined survival horror. Just maybe play with the lights on.
