Plundered Hearts came out on the Amiga in 1987 from Infocom, Inc. It was a text adventure, but it had graphics, which was a nice step up from the all-text games of the time. You play as a young woman who gets captured by pirates in the 17th century, and the whole thing has this swashbuckling romance novel feel to it.

You control the heroine through typed commands, navigating the pirate ship and later an island, screen by screen. Your main goal is to escape, but you also have to manage relationships with the crew, including the dashing captain, through interactive dialogue choices. The puzzles often involve using items cleverly or talking your way out of trouble instead of fighting. It moves at a deliberate pace, and some puzzles can be pretty obscure, but figuring them out feels satisfying. Playing it gives you the sense of being the clever protagonist in your own adventure story.
