It’s got that classic Pokémon feel—pixelated routes, random encounters, the whole deal—but everything’s dialed up to volcanic levels. Wild Pokémon? Mostly fire-types, with a few surprises like lava-dwelling Geodudes. The battles are faster, too, with this weirdly satisfying crackle effect every time an attack lands. And yeah, the post-game has you fighting a gauntlet of trainers who look like they walked out of a volcano, which is exactly as intense as it sounds.
