Pokemon Omega Ruby GBA feels like stepping back into Hoenn with fresh eyes. The first few routes are familiar—zigzagging through tall grass, grabbing your starter, and that first rival battle where you realize your Mudkip is way slower than you remembered. But the GBA version keeps things simple, no extra fluff.
I got stuck for an hour trying to find the Devon Goods in Rustboro because the old-school sprites make some doors blend into walls. And the water routes still feel endless, but at least the music slaps. The gym puzzles are just tricky enough to make you think without being frustrating.
It's a solid way to revisit Hoenn if you want that classic GBA feel without modern changes. Just don't expect any surprises if you've played the original.
