Pokemon - Ruby Version (V1.1) is one of those games that just sticks with you. The Hoenn region feels alive in a way that makes you want to explore every corner, even if it means getting lost in tall grass for way too long. I remember my first playthrough, stumbling into a cave without enough repels and getting swarmed by Zubats—classic.
The gym leaders actually put up a fight this time around, especially Wattson with his Magneton if you picked Treecko. And the water routes? They’re endless, but somehow it never gets old surfing around, hoping to bump into a rare encounter. The music in Rustboro and Slateport still plays in my head sometimes.
It’s not perfect—some of the HM requirements feel like padding, and the rival battles can catch you off guard if you’re not grinding enough. But Pokemon - Ruby Version (V1.1) has this weird charm that makes you overlook the flaws.
