Game Overview
Pokémon White (the French version, if that’s your thing) is one of those DS games that still holds up years later. You start in a cozy little town, pick your first Pokémon—honestly, I always go with Oshawott because water types are just reliable—and then suddenly you’re knee-deep in tall grass, trying to catch everything that moves. The battles feel snappy, and the new Unova Pokémon are weird in the best way (who decided a living ice cream cone was a good idea?).
What I like is how the story actually tries something different—Team Plasma’s whole "free the Pokémon" angle makes you pause between gym battles. And the animated sprites? They give the fights way more personality than the older pixel-art ones. Just don’t get too attached to your first Lillipup—you’ll probably swap it out by the third gym.
It’s a solid Pokémon game with enough twists to keep even jaded fans hooked.
