Play Pompeii Online
You’re a tiny block sprinting through collapsing streets, dodging flaming rubble as Vesuvius wipes out everything around you—somehow panic translates perfectly through those janky Atari pixels.

Game Overview
Pompeii on the Atari 2600 is one of those weird, ambitious little games that sticks with you. You play as some poor soul sprinting through the streets while Vesuvius rains fire and rubble down on everything. The controls are simple—just run and dodge—but the panic feels real when a chunk of building crashes right where you were standing a second ago.
It’s janky in that classic Atari way, but there’s something oddly gripping about the whole thing. Maybe it’s the fact that they tried to turn an actual historical disaster into an arcade game? Either way, dodging flaming debris while the city collapses around you makes for a surprisingly tense few minutes. Not bad for a game where everyone’s basically a square.
If you’re into retro oddities or just want to see how the 2600 handled ancient tragedies, this one’s worth a look.
