Game Overview
Pooyan is one of those weirdly charming arcade games where you play as a momma pig trying to save her piglets from wolves—because of course that’s a thing. You’re stuck in this rickety cable car, bouncing up and down while wolves float down on balloons like some deranged airborne invasion. Shoot their balloons, and they go splat. Miss, and they’ll climb up to get you. Simple, but weirdly tense.
At first, it feels manageable—just pick off wolves one by one. Then you realize they’re chucking acorns at you, and suddenly you’re scrambling to grab meat from the top of the screen to lure them off their balloons for bonus points. The second level flips everything: wolves take multiple hits, an alpha wolf starts summoning reinforcements, and if too many reach the top, they drop a boulder on you. It’s chaotic in the best way.
Honestly, it shouldn’t work, but there’s something about the absurd premise and escalating madness that makes it weirdly addictive. You’ll hate those wolves by the third level.
