Power Rangers: Time Force came out on the Game Boy Advance in 2001, published by THQ. It was part of that first wave of GBA titles, a side-scrolling brawler that felt right at home on the handheld. You get to play as the Time Force Rangers, battling through levels based on the show to stop Ransik and his army of mutants from messing up the timeline.
You control one Ranger at a time, switching between them to use their unique weapons and special moves. The main goal is to fight through screen after screen of enemies, clearing each area before moving on. Signature mechanics include building up a special meter to unleash powerful attacks and piloting the Megazord for boss fights, which play out like a slower, more strategic mini-game. The pacing is brisk, and the difficulty can spike during some of the later enemy encounters. It feels like a solid, straightforward adaptation that captures the energy of the TV series.
