Power Spikes is that fast-paced arcade volleyball game where you’ve got three minutes to rack up points against another team. It’s simple but frantic—you control a squad of four, either solo against the CPU or head-to-head with a friend. There’s something satisfying about the way the ball physics work; you’ll whiff a few spikes at first, but once you get the timing down, slamming the ball past the other team feels great.
Nine teams to pick from, each with their own little quirks (I usually go for Brazil—no real reason, just habit). The controls are dead simple: joystick moves your players, and one button handles everything—jumping, hitting, even tossing the ball up for a serve. It’s the kind of game where you’ll yell at the screen when the CPU pulls off some ridiculous save.
Matches are quick, chaotic, and way more fun with two players. Just don’t blame me when your friendship gets tested over a disputed spike.
