Game Overview
Prince of Persia: Revelations came out for the PlayStation Portable in 2005, developed and published by Ubisoft. It was a port of the console game Warrior Within, adapted for the handheld with some new content and adjustments. At the time, the PSP was still new, and having a full Prince of Persia adventure in your pocket felt like a real technical achievement, even if the hardware had its limits.
You control the Prince, navigating trap-filled palaces and ancient ruins, fighting shadow creatures with a sword and later a secondary weapon. The main goal is to change your fate and escape the Dahaka, a relentless time monster. Signature mechanics include the Dagger of Time, which lets you rewind mistakes or slow enemies, and fluid acrobatics like wall-running, swinging on poles, and dodging environmental hazards. The pacing is tense, with combat and platforming often happening back to back, and the difficulty can spike without much warning. It feels physical and immediate, like you're constantly threading danger with precise jumps and well-timed strikes.
