Prince of Persia: Rival Swords takes Warrior Within’s dark, time-bending adventure and squeezes it onto the PSP—somehow without losing what made it great. You’ve still got the Prince flipping off walls, slicing up shadow monsters, and rewinding time when you mess up a jump (which happens more than I’d like to admit).
The big twist here? Local multiplayer duels where you can finally settle who’s the better acrobatic swordsman among friends. There’s something deeply satisfying about outmaneuvering someone mid-air before landing the killing blow. The new dagger-steal move changes up combat just enough to keep fights tense.
It’s not perfect—the camera fights you sometimes—but for a portable version of an already solid game, it holds up surprisingly well. Just don’t blame me when you get obsessed with nailing those slow-motion finishers.
