Play Puyo Puyo Sun Online
Drop colored blobs, match four or more, and send garbage to your opponent while racing to clear your screen in this colorful puzzle game.
Puyo Puyo Sun came out for the Game Boy Color in 1996, developed by Compile. It was one of those games you'd see people hunched over during car trips or between classes, a bright little distraction in an era when handhelds were finally getting some decent color. It didn't try to reinvent the wheel, just gave you more of that weird, charming puzzle action right in your pocket.
You control a character who drops pairs of colored blobs, or Puyos, into a well. The main goal is to clear your screen by matching four or more of the same color, which sends garbage Puyos to your opponent's side. The big additions here are the Sun Puyos; landing one on a group makes the whole connected mass vanish after a short delay, letting you set up huge, screen-clearing chain reactions. The game also introduces Prince Salde, an antagonist who occasionally appears to crank up the pressure by making the Puyos fall faster. Matches start deceptively calm but quickly spiral into a frantic race to build and trigger combos before you get buried. It feels like a constant, delightful scramble to stay one step ahead of the chaos.
