Puyo Puyo Sun is that perfect mix of cute and chaotic—you’re matching colorful blobs while the world’s literally about to burn because some drama queen prince messed with the sun. Classic Puyo Puyo madness, but now with these little sun-shaped puyos that crank up the combo damage when you slot them in right.
You’ve got three story routes to pick from, each with its own weird cast of characters to battle. The core gameplay hasn’t changed much: drop puyos, match four of the same color, and pray your opponent gets buried under garbage blocks before you do. But those sun puyos? They’re sneaky—sometimes they save you, sometimes they ruin everything. No regrets though.
There’s a two-player mode if you’ve got a friend who enjoys friendly sabotage, plus some extra challenges if you really want to test your stacking skills. The Game Boy Color version somehow makes the whole "impending solar apocalypse" thing look cheerful. Just don’t blame me when you start seeing puyos in your sleep.
