Play Pyrotechnica Online
Pilot a clunky ship through eerie wireframe voids, blasting aliens and rescuing wingmen—shields vanish fast, but your guns always recharge. Feels like Descent on a shoestring budget, but the explosions glow like supernovas in the dark.

Pyrotechnica came out in 1995 as part of the MS-DOS Classic Games collection, published by Psygnosis. It was a time when 3D games were still finding their footing, and this one fit right in with its stark, vector-based visuals and focus on pure action over story. You knew what you were getting: a straightforward arcade experience built for quick sessions and high scores.
You control a small, agile ship navigating through abstract, wireframe tunnels and open chambers. Your main goal is to survive wave after wave of geometric enemies, rescuing stranded pilots when they appear. The core mechanics involve careful energy management between your forward-firing weapons and a limited shield, along with memorizing enemy patterns that become increasingly aggressive. The pacing is relentless; one wrong move and your ship shatters into pixels. It feels tense and isolating, like being the only source of light in a vast, hostile darkness.
Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
