Play Qbasic - Gorillas Online
Two gorillas on rooftops lob exploding bananas at each other—nail the angle and power before gravity sends your shot spiraling back into your face. That janky QBasic physics somehow made every miss as satisfying as a direct hit.

Gorillas came out in 1991 as part of the MS-DOS Classic Games collection, a simple artillery game included with QBasic. It was a small, free program from IBM, the kind of thing you'd find on a computer in a classroom or at home when you were supposed to be doing something else. It fit perfectly into that era of computing, where even the most basic programs could capture your attention for hours.
You control one of two gorillas perched on the skyline of a blocky city, taking turns to throw explosive bananas at your opponent. The core of the game is entering an angle and velocity for each shot, then watching the banana arc across the screen, affected by gravity and sometimes wind. The main objective is to land a direct hit on the other gorilla, blowing them up. The pacing is slow and thoughtful, a turn-based duel where a single miscalculation means your banana sails uselessly into a building or, worse, curves back and explodes in your own face. It feels surprisingly tense for such a simple setup, a pure test of estimation and prediction.
Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
