Quester Special Edition is one of those arcade games that looks simple at first—until you realize how fast it kicks your butt. You start off with this little pixel hero running through maze-like levels, grabbing power-ups that either make you unstoppable or get you killed faster (seriously, some of them are traps). The boss fights are where it really shines—each one has these weird patterns you have to memorize, and the music goes absolutely nuts when you finally beat them.

It’s got that old-school arcade feel where everything’s just slightly unfair, but in a way that makes you want to try again. I lost track of how many times I yelled at the screen before finally getting past level 5. If you’re into games that don’t hold your hand, this one’s a solid time-waster.
