Game Overview

Man, R.B.I. Baseball '94 on the Genesis was the baseball game you actually wanted to play after school. No endless menus or stat spreadsheets—just grab a controller, pick your team (even if the players had fake names), and start smashing homers. The pitching felt snappy, fielding wasn’t a chore, and the whole thing moved at this great arcade pace where a full game didn’t take all afternoon.

What really sold it was how good it felt with two players. My brother and I must’ve ruined a dozen weekends arguing over called strikes or diving catches that just barely missed. The colors popped, the animations were smooth for the time, and that crack of the bat? Perfect. It’s not a sim—it’s the kind of game where you bunt just to see the shortstop panic. Still holds up if you’re into that early ‘90s Sega vibe.
