Play R-Type III Online

R-Type III on GBA is one of those shooters that feels simple at first, until you realize how tight the level design is. The first stage lulls you in with basic enemies, but by stage two, you're threading through narrow corridors while dodging bullets from all angles.

What stands out is the weapon system. You collect these floating pods that attach to your ship, letting you customize firepower. I kept switching between the spread shot and the laser, never quite sure which was better for the boss fights. Those bosses, by the way, are massive, half the screen sometimes, and they don't go down easy.

It's punishing, but not unfair. When you die, it's usually because you zigged when you should've zagged. R-Type III doesn't hold your hand, but that makes clearing a stage feel like an actual achievement.
