Radical Dreamers is this weird little text adventure spin-off from Chrono Trigger that never officially left Japan—but honestly, it’s way cooler than it sounds. You play as Serge, sneaking into Viper Manor with Kid (the reckless thief girl from Chrono Cross) and Magil (who’s basically a wizard in a cloak and never explains anything). The whole thing plays like an interactive novel where every choice matters—move left, pick a lock, say the wrong thing to a guard, and the story branches in totally different directions.

No fancy sprites or cutscenes, just Mitsuda’s moody soundtrack and Serge’s narration painting this gothic heist gone wrong. Some endings wrap up in 20 minutes if you mess up badly; others unravel deeper mysteries about Lynx and the Frozen Flame. It’s janky, atmospheric, and feels like digging up a secret the Chrono series almost forgot about.

Definitely play it with the translation patch—the original script has this dreamlike quality that makes even random hallway descriptions weirdly poetic.
