Raging Fighter came out for the Game Boy in 1993, published by Taito. It was one of those portable fighting games trying to capture the arcade energy of the time, but on a tiny monochrome screen. You had to squint a bit to follow the action, but it was there if you wanted a brawl in your pocket.
You pick a fighter, like a cyborg bruiser or a speedy ninja, and learn their combos by tilting the d-pad just right. The main goal is to beat your opponent in one-on-one fights, either against the computer or a friend with a link cable. Timing those special moves is crucial; miss and you eat a counterattack, especially when your buddy's across the couch. It feels a little stiff compared to bigger console fighters, but landing a full combo string has its own satisfying clunk.
