Rayman 2 on the N64 is one of those games that just sticks with you. You start off in this weird, dreamlike world where everything’s been taken over by these clunky robot pirates, and Rayman—who’s just a floating torso with hands and feet—has to free his friends and put things right. The controls feel surprisingly smooth for an early 3D platformer, and the levels are packed with little secrets and weird creatures that make exploring actually fun.
What really stands out is how colorful and alive everything feels, even now. You’ll swing on vines, ride rockets, and bounce off mushrooms while this goofy soundtrack keeps things upbeat. Some of the later levels get pretty tough, but in a way that makes you want to try again instead of throwing the controller. If you missed this one back in the day, it’s still a blast to play now.
