Rayman 2 on Game Boy Color is one of those rare ports that somehow makes the jump to handheld without losing its charm. You’re still flinging those weird stretchy fists at robot pirates, bouncing off mushrooms, and collecting those little yellow lums—just in chunky, colorful pixel form.
It’s surprisingly fluid for a GBC game, too. The controls feel tight when you’re gliding or wall-jumping, though I’ll admit some of the later platforming bits had me muttering at the screen. The pirate ship levels? Still as chaotic as I remember.
If you’ve played the console versions, it’s fun to see how they condensed the adventure. And if you haven’t? Well, you’re in for a weird, bouncy trip through one of the best platformers of its era.
