RBI Baseball came out for the Nintendo Entertainment System in 1987, developed by Namco and published by Tengen. It was one of the first baseball games on the NES to feature real Major League teams and players, which made it stand out in an era when many sports titles used generic or made up rosters.

You control all nine players on the field, pitching, batting, and fielding your way through full nine inning games. The main objective is to outscore your opponent, either against the computer or a second player. Key mechanics include timing your swing with the bat cursor to make contact, choosing pitch types and locations from the mound, and manually moving fielders to catch fly balls or chase down grounders. The game moves at a brisk pace, and while the fielding can feel a bit stiff, the pitching and hitting have a satisfying rhythm. It feels straightforward and competitive, capturing the back and forth tension of a real baseball game.
