I remember picking up The Ren & Stimpy Show: Time Warp for the Super Nintendo back in 1994. THQ published it, and it was one of those licensed platformers that tried to capture the show's weird energy. It fit right in with the era's flood of cartoon based games, some good, some not so much.
You control Ren and Stimpy, switching between them to get through side scrolling levels set in different time periods. The main goal is to beat each stage, fighting off enemies and solving simple environmental puzzles. Signature mechanics include using Stimpy's belly bounce to break blocks and Ren's slingshot to hit switches or enemies from a distance. The pacing is erratic, and the difficulty can spike without much warning. Playing it feels like wrestling with a stubborn cartoon that never quite does what you want it to.
