Play Robot Wars : Metal Mayhem Online

Robot Wars: Metal Mayhem is one of those weirdly satisfying Game Boy Color games where you get to tinker with a clunky little death machine before throwing it into an arena. At first, I just slapped random weapons on my bot—turns out spiky wheels and a flamethrower don’t always play nice together. The workshop lets you tweak everything, from armor to movement, and there’s something oddly charming about watching your creation wobble into battle.

You’ve got a few modes to test your bot—sumo matches where you shove opponents out of the ring, obstacle courses, and the full-on War Zone fights. The controls take a minute to get used to (good luck not flipping yourself over), but once it clicks, it’s pure chaotic fun. The house robots are absolute menaces, by the way—nothing like seeing your carefully built bot get punted across the arena by a giant spinning blade.

It’s not the deepest game, but there’s a weird thrill in seeing how long your frankenstein creation lasts before exploding into scrap metal.
