Game Overview

Rockman 7 (Rockman 6) is a demake of Mega Man 7 for the NES, so it's got that classic 8-bit feel but with the Robot Masters and weapons from the later game. The first thing you notice is how tight the controls are—jumping and shooting feel just right, though some of the enemy patterns can be brutal if you're not careful.

You start with the usual stage select, picking which Robot Master to tackle first. The levels are shorter than the SNES version, but they still pack in some tricky platforming and hidden power-ups. The weapons you get from bosses are fun to experiment with, though a couple feel situational at best.

It's a solid demake, but some of the sprite flickering and slowdown can get annoying in busier sections. Still, if you're into old-school Mega Man, Rockman 7 (Rockman 6) is worth checking out for the novelty alone.
