If you've ever wanted to swing a sword like Kenshin Himura, this PSP fighter gets pretty close. The animations nail those signature moves—watching Battousai flip into a Hiten Mitsurugi technique feels as slick as the anime. Most of the roster plays like you'd expect (Saito's Gatotsu thrust is brutal, Sanosuke punches like a freight train), though some characters take getting used to.
It's not just button-mashing—timing counters and managing your gauge actually matters, especially against bosses. The story mode follows major arcs from the Kyoto arc, complete with those dramatic mid-fight dialogue exchanges. My only gripe? The stages could use more variety, but the sprite work holds up surprisingly well for a PSP title.
