Game Overview
San Goku Shi DS is one of those games that looks intimidating at first—until you realize you're basically playing chess with warlords. You start by picking a faction (I always go for Cao Cao because his stats are ridiculous) and then it's all about managing cities, recruiting generals, and convincing other warlords that maybe, just maybe, they should stop fighting you and join your side instead.
The battles are turn-based but surprisingly fast, and there's something weirdly satisfying about watching your tiny DS sprites clash on the battlefield. The politics are where it gets tricky—one wrong move and your allies turn on you, but pull off a good scheme and you can take a whole province without lifting a sword. It's the kind of game where you tell yourself "just one more turn" and suddenly it's 2 AM.
If you like strategy games where half the challenge is keeping your own army from rebelling, this one's a solid pick for the DS.
