Santa Claus Junior came out for the Game Boy Color in 2001, developed by JoWooD Productions. It was one of those late era GBC platformers that felt a little rough around the edges, but it had a certain charm if you were into holiday themed games. The graphics were colorful and simple, fitting right in with other titles from that time on the handheld.
You control Nick, Santa's son, who slides across icy platforms and dodges enemies like snowball throwing yetis. Your main goal is to collect presents scattered through each level before a witch can ruin Christmas. The game uses screen by screen exploration, with some light puzzle solving involving switches and keys. It can be frustratingly slippery at times, and the difficulty spikes in later stages. Playing it feels like a mix of cautious timing and quick reactions, especially when you finally land a tricky jump after a few attempts.
