Remember those old Scooby-Doo cartoons where the gang splits up and Shaggy and Scooby get stuck doing the scary stuff? This Sega Genesis game nails that vibe perfectly. You play as Shaggy (with Scooby tagging along, mostly just looking nervous) in two classic mystery episodes.
The first one’s set in a creepy ski hotel where some ancient chieftain’s ghost is wrecking the place—and of course, Daphne’s uncle gets kidnapped. The second mystery throws you into a run-down carnival with a phantom clown (because regular clowns aren’t unsettling enough). Fred, Daphne, and Velma manage to get themselves trapped almost immediately, leaving you and Scooby to poke around for clues.
It’s all point-and-click—well, point-and-press-button—with a menu of actions like "look" or "use." You’ll wander around, combine weird items (why does Shaggy always have a sandwich?), and occasionally panic when the ghost shows up. The password system’s a lifesaver since some puzzles take a while to crack. It’s janky in that very '90s way, but if you grew up on Scooby-Doo, it’s weirdly charming.
