So Scurge Hive is this weird little GBA gem where you play as Jenosa, a bounty hunter who really should’ve trusted her gut. She takes a sketchy job and ends up stuck in a massive space lab crawling with this freaky parasite called Scurge. The infection spreads fast—like, really fast—and if you don’t blast your way through rooms fast enough, it starts eating away at Jenosa too.
It’s part Metroidvania, part survival horror, with this tense energy where you’re always racing against the clock. The top-down shooting feels snappy, but the real kicker is managing your infection meter while scavenging for upgrades. Mess up, and you’ll watch Jenosa’s suit crack apart as the Scurge takes over. Kinda brutal, but in a way that makes you wanna try again immediately.
Also, the lab’s layout is full of shortcuts and secrets—just when you think you’re cornered, you find a vent or a hidden weapon. Really nails that “desperate scramble” vibe.
