You're Jenosa, blasting through a research station while an infection eats at your health—dodge the red gunk, hunt for decon stations, and swap weapons to take down mutants before the timer kills you.
You play as Jenosa, a bounty hunter who picks up what should be a routine job—check out some weird alien goo on a research planet—and ends up infected with the very thing she’s supposed to investigate. Now she’s stuck on Inos, blasting through mutated creatures while a creeping infection meter ticks up. Stand in the wrong puddle of red gunk, and it climbs even faster.
It’s got that Metroid vibe at first glance, but the infection mechanic changes everything. You’re always racing against the clock, hunting for decontamination stations (which double as save points) before your health starts nosediving. The weapons feel great—some enemies crumple under certain guns but shrug off others, so you’re constantly swapping gear mid-fight. And yeah, you level up by wrecking monsters, which makes backtracking with new firepower weirdly satisfying.
Honestly, the tension of watching that infection meter is what sticks with me. You’ll be halfway through a new area, low on health, and suddenly realize the nearest decon station is way too far behind you. It’s brutal in the best way.
